INITIATION JOURNEY: God has been working in the lives of many, calling them to life in the Church. Many parishes have been working with these adults, some seeking initiation through Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist and others, already baptized, seeking communion in the Church. Bishop Paul joins bishops throughout the world in celebrating these rites, eliciting a deeper level of commitment and faithfulness from the catechumen and candidates. Their godparents and sponsors will testify on their behalf and we will be asked to affirm them, supporting them by prayer and example. All are encouraged to come to the Rite of Election, Sunday, 1 March 1:00 p.m. St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, 373 Manchester Street. This is not a Mass but a joyful celebration of God’s calling and their response to discipleship. A reception will follow.
