Heaven is our everlasting homeland. In heaven, we have our Mother Mary who is waiting for us. When we pray the rosary or lit a candle to ask Mother Mary to deliver our postage prayers to God by her intercessions, she pays attention to us and she listens to our voices.
As the Memorare reassures us, “REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided.… ” How touching our Mother is to hear our voices that cry out to her from the earth.
We are like babies of the same Father and the same Mother; this world is like a big womb that all people are waiting to be born into eternal life. We are just like babies in the wombs of their mothers, every turn and every twist that they move inside the wombs makes their own pregnant mothers aware of their presence in their bodies and in their lives. How wonderful it is for us to know that our mother is waiting for us at home in heaven. And how wonderful God is who has allowed us to know that our Mother is in heaven with him.
On this solemn feast (Thursday 15th August) of the patronage of the New Zealand Church, we pray that we are becoming the people of hope for our country, who are living in this world, but our voices have already been heard in heaven. May Our Lady of Assumption pray for us!
